Terms of Service
Last updated: October 22, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Ambysto Power app ("Power") and the purchase of a Power Pro license from Ambysto Technologies LLC ("Ambysto", "we", "us"), a limited liability company organized under the laws of Wyoming, United States, with its registered office at 1021 E Lincolnway #10890, Cheyenne, WY 82001. They apply together with the Ambysto Terms of Service, which cover all our products; where this page is more specific about Power, this page applies. By installing, buying or using Power, you agree to these terms.
1. Who may use Power
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use Power on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.
2. What Power is
Power is a desktop app for macOS, part of the Ambysto Pro Suite. It shows your Mac's battery health and history, an estimate of which apps use power, the thermal state and throttling episodes, and read-only sensors, and it can keep your Mac from idle sleep during sessions and rules that you create. It runs on your own computer and has a free version. Pro features are unlocked with a license key that you buy once, for Power alone or for the whole suite. The features in Free and Pro are described on this website at the time of purchase.
3. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Power. You may use the free version at no cost. A Pro license key unlocks the Pro features of the apps it lists, within the use limits described on this website or at checkout.
You may not share, resell or publish your license key, or attempt to bypass the license check.
4. Keep-awake sessions and what Power shows
Power changes one thing on your Mac: whether it may go to sleep when idle, and only while a session or rule that you created is active. Power never limits or changes charging, never changes Energy Saver, Low Power Mode or any sleep setting, never keeps a Mac awake with the lid closed, never writes to the hardware sensors, and never sends signals to or starts other processes.
- A session ends when you end it, at its deadline, when the battery reaches the battery floor while you are on battery (20 % by default), when the thermal state becomes critical, at its time cap (12 hours by default) unless you answer the question Power asks beforehand, and when Power quits. Keeping a Mac awake uses power and produces heat; you are responsible for starting sessions sensibly.
- Power's figures are information, not advice. The power-by-app list is an estimate, not a measurement of watts, and does not include the graphics processor. Sensor readings come from per-model tables, and a Mac without one shows no number. Battery health is Power's own ratio of the figures your Mac reports; it is not a service diagnosis or a warranty assessment.
- Pro alerts only inform you; they never change anything.
- Use Power only on computers you own or are authorized to manage.
5. Price and payment
A Power Pro license is a one-time purchase at the price shown at checkout. It does not renew, and you are not charged again for it. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes, which are added where required. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Power to break any law or infringe anyone's rights, to disrupt systems you are not authorized to manage, or to resell or sublicense Power without our written permission.
7. Updates and changes
We may update or improve features over time. If an app update removes a material Pro feature, you may keep using the version you already have, or request a full refund of that Pro license within 30 days of the update.
8. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated in these terms, Power is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that Power's readings and estimates are exact or complete, that a keep-awake session will keep every Mac awake in every situation, or that it will work with every Mac model or version of macOS.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ambysto will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Power is limited to the amount you paid us for Power in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using Power at any time and uninstall it. We may cancel a license key if you materially breach these terms or the payment for it is reversed.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Laramie County, Wyoming.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and, for material changes, notify active customers by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
